121
121 is a 'blogging' site designed to encourage international dialogue between the UK and overseas by pairing people with similar concerns and occupations, and getting them to co-author a blog (online journal) over a set period. For example, a teacher in Teheran and a teacher in Birmingham; a security guard in Freetown and a security guard in Glasgow. The site acts as a platform for telling an alternative story of countries of which we tend to have a clichéd or ill-informed picture. The site launched with Iran and has extended to cover Sierra Leone, Russia and Uganda. 121 was created by Channel 4 in partnership with Blogger/Google.
